Description:
Works as a team leader, directing a crew providing a variety of landscaping services in the summer season and snow and ice control services in the winter season.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• At all times conduct yourself in accordance with the Clintar philosophy outlined in the Employee Handbook; • Be an excellent teammate to your coworkers, and provide exemplary service to our clients; • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism when dealing with clients, coworkers and the public; • Lead up to three crew members and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Clintar HR policies & procedures; • Coach and mentor your Crew Members to enhance their professional development; • Perform manual labour and operate equipment to maintain landscaped environments, including lawns, beds and hardscaped areas; • Specific tasks may include (but are not limited to): mowing, trimming, blowing, raking, aerating, seeding and spraying lawns; weeding, planting, mulching and modifying garden beds; planting, pruning and mulching trees and shrubs; and general cleanup of client properties; • Lead a crew in the construction of a variety of landscape features, such as: fences, decks, patios and irrigation and lighting systems; • In the winter months, perform one or more snow and ice control services, such as: shovelling and salting of walkways or operating plowing or salting equipment; • Embrace a safety-focused work culture and strictly adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requirements, as well as Clintar Health & Safety protocols; • Responsible for Crew Members’ adherence to OHSA safety regulations and Clintar Health & Safety protocols; • Responsible for quality of service provided to clients by your crew; • Responsible for condition of clients’ properties serviced by your crew; • Responsible for ensuring your crew uses all tools, equipment and vehicles in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions; • Seek out and pursue learning and growth opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skill set; and • Follow direction from Clintar Supervisors and Managers.

Requirements:
A clean and valid Ontario driver's license (G) is mandatory. A clean and valid D license is an asset.

Education and/or Experience:
Five years experience in landscape maintenance, including no less than three years as a foreman/crew leader.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
• Knowledge of all hand tools and powered tools commonly used in landscaping maintenance and enhancements and in snow and ice control, and the willingness and ability to teach this to Crew Members. • Familiarity with Clintar’s strategic vision and goals and the willingness and ability to exercise leadership skills to ensure that all Crew Members under your supervision adopt this vision and these goals as their own.

Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds; • Must be able to work in outside weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity and rain; and • Noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Language Skills:
Ability to: • Communicate professionally with coworkers, clients and the public; • Read and understand documents such as Health & Safety regulations, equipment operating and maintenance manuals and a variety of internal Clintar documents; and • Read and write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to: • Calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area and volume and convert between metric and imperial.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to: • Carry out a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram or schedule form; and • Assess customer issues, collect relevant information, establish facts and draw appropriate conclusions for problem solving.
